During the most recent Medicare AEP, I met with a client who wanted to enroll in an MAPD. After enrolling him, he said he’d heard that I had been in the web business for 20 years. The reason he said was his computer and smartphone had been hacked. All of his contacts, website passwords, and some financial information were compromised. He then asked if I could help him harden his computer and online security.
After helping him with a few things, I realized that a majority of my clientele probably faced similar issues. So I decided to write a series of common sense and technical articles to help my typical clients avoid disaster. By helping them with their computer and online security.
There is a perception out there that you can’t protect yourself from online and computer intrusions. WRONG! There are simple but effective ways to make sure your computer and online life are safer. A much better alternative than just doing nothing.
Computer and Online Security will cover the following topics in the series including:
- Password Security
- Online Security
- Smartphone security
- Social Media Security
- Computer Security
The series will include software and hardware solutions as well as simple common sense. I’m not sure as of yet the total number of articles. But I intend to cobble them all together in one pdf as a free download from the site. The articles will begin on Monday, January 27, 2020. Then every Monday and Thursday afternoons. They can also be found on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
