Richard E Smith
I’m licensed and reside in the state of Florida, so I only work with Florida residents. If you’re located in South Florida, please feel free to make an appointment to see me at my office.
The worldwide pandemic has changed the way we sell insurance, I’ve moved all of my client interactions online with virtual meetings and consultations.
If you have an internet-connected device with a camera and microphone, I host secure, online meetings via Zoom video conferencing or Gmail Meet.
I understand how important your health care needs are. As a broker, I represent multiple exchange and short term health insurance providers. I also work with America’s largest independent insurance agency. I don’t care who you go with, I just want you to have the best health care coverage at a price you can afford!

Open Enrollment Virtual Consultation
The 2021 Open Enrollment Period runs from Sunday, November 1 to Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
IMPORTANT: 2021 Open Enrollment is only a few weeks!
If you don’t act by December 15, you can’t get 2021 coverage unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. Plans sold during Open Enrollment start January 1, 2021.
SEP (Special Enrollment Period) Virtual Consultation
A time outside the yearly Open Enrollment Period when you can sign up for health insurance. You qualify for a Special Enrollment Period if you’ve had certain life events, including:
- losing health coverage
- moving
- getting married
- having a baby
- adopting a child
Depending on your Special Enrollment Period type, you may have 60 days before or 60 days following the event to enroll in a plan. If you miss your Special Enrollment Period window, you may have to wait until the next Open Enrollment Period to apply.
You can enroll in Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) any time of year, if you’re eligible, whether you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period or not.
Job-based plans must provide a Special Enrollment Period of at least 30 days.
- See if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period due to a life event like losing other coverage, getting married, or having a baby.
- See if you qualify for Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). You can apply for these programs any time.
Short-Term Health Plan Virtual Consultation
BE ADVISED: If you buy a plan outside the Marketplace any time, during Open Enrollment or not, you can’t get premium tax credits or other savings based on your income.
We offer private, short-term health plans from various providers with terms from 3 months to 3 years. These plans are not considered minimum essential coverage. However, with supplemental insurance, they offer a significant financial advantage over COBRA plans!
